All of our pianos are first of all completely dismantled in our workshop to allow a detailed inspection to be made of every component before any work begins. There are more than 5,000 separate items on the average piano and the condition of every one is checked for damage or excessive wear. The most important part of any piano is the wrest plank or tuning block and if this is worn out then the piano will not stay in tune and is useless as a musical instrument even though the cabinet might be in perfect condition.
