MR MIKAEL PETTERSSON B Mus (Hons)



Swedish concert pianist Mikael Pettersson is available for accompanying singers and instrumentalists for recitals and rehearsals as well as accompanying for auditions and ABRSM exams including higher grades and Diplomas. Also available for orchestral work and choir work.

Mikael Pettersson obtained a B Mus (Hons) degree at Birmingham Conservatoire. He has also studied with Prof. Hans Leygraf and Prof. Peter Feuchtwanger.

Piano recitals have taken place in Sweden, Germany, France, Austria and the U.K. Venues include St Martin-in-the-Fields, Southwark Festival, St Mary Abbott's Church and St James's Church in London as well as Barber In stitute of Fine Arts, Symphony Hall and the CBSO Centre in Birmingham.

He performed the Piano Concerto in G major by Ravel at St Mary's Church in Nottingham and has appeared on radio and television. He has also produced a CD with music by Chopin, Mozart and the Swedish composer Stenhammar.

As an accompanist Mikael Pettersson has worked with Canoldir Male Voice Choir and German singer Eva Meier as well as appearing in recital with Richard Jenkinson, Principal Cellist of the CBSO. In 2000 he was a finalist in the Birmingham Accompanist of the Year Competition.

He is also employed by Elmhurst School for Dance as a Pianist.

Mikael Pettersson has taught piano for many years and has competition prize-winners among his students. He regularly organizes Masterclasses for pianists. In 2008 his students are performing all Debussy's Preludes between them in concert. He has successfully entered students for ABRSM exams and Diplomas with many Distinctions as a result. Recently his students were offered places at the University of Hull and the Conservatoire in Cardiff following successful auditions.

In the autumn of 2006 Mikael Pettersson performed for His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales on His visit to Birmingham. In the summer 2007 he attended Mozarteum Akademie in Salzburg, Austria where he also appeared in concert.
