ALISON GILL
I am a 22 year old music student studying my Postgraduate Diploma in perfomance at the Royal Academy of Music. My principal study being Piano Accompaniment. I formerly studied at Huddersfield University for my Bachelor of Music Honours Degree under the guidance of professional accompanist, Ian Buckle. Whilst at Huddersfield, I secured the position as official accompanist to the University of Bradford Choir. I gained my Dip ABRSM in 2003 and my LRSM with Distinction in 2005. In addition to my accompaniment work, I have a wealth of experience in both performance and teaching and have benefited from attending Masterclasses with virtuoso soloists Lora Dimitrova, John Gough and Sarah Beth Briggs and also from private tuition with Jeremy Young and Alan Cuckston. In 2003, I took the top accolade at the Hartlepool Music and Arts Festival, winning the Russ Nicholson trophy for Best Musician over all categories. I have since then returned each year to the Festival but as the Official Accompanist. I have performed in many concerts, both as soloist and accompanist to fellow students on a range of instruments. I have taken part in a number of ensembles and in my final year at University, I was selected as soloist to perform Gershwins Piano Concerto in F with the University Orchestra. I am now studying for a Postgraduate Diploma in Piano Accompaniment at the Royal Academy of Music in London, which commenced September 2006. If you require a piano accompanist, I would be very pleased to hear from you.
