Hello,
I have recently purchased a second hand Kemble for my daughter. It has quite a number of miles on it, having been purchased in England by a Jamaican medical doctor, shipped to Jamaica, then on to three cities in Canada - Winnipeg,Manitoba; Kingston,Ontario and eventually St. John's, Newfoundland as the doctor's family moved. This is where I purchased it (from the doctor's daughter). I am trying to find out what the model of the piano is. It looks much like the pictures I can find of the "classic" but I do not know when Kemble began to make this model. I do have the serial number, but Kemble does not have an e-mail address. If I do not find an answer here I will resort to snail-mail and hope they find the history interesting enough to respond.
Thanks for your interest.

If you go to the PianoGen website and click on "Datemarks", you will see how the keyframe is probably labelled, and this often gives the model with Kembles. If you give me the number, I can look up the date, and I also have a few pictures of Kemble models, although I tend to have my head in the 19th century most of the time! _________________ I do not buy, sell or value pianos, but I sometimes rescue wood-frame pianos in the UK.
