Have any of you ever heard of a piano made by Sandon & Steedman. I found one at an antique & gift shop and it is in very good shape as far as the cabinet and the ivory's. It definitley needs tuned and I'm not so sure that it may need other work. When you touch a key it sounds like you're hitting several at the same time? Anyway, I fell in love with it, but not sure if it would be worth the money they are asking if I had to put alot of money into repairing it. Am very curious about any history I could fin out about it. The writing on it says Sandon & Steedman, Mfgr. Expressly for A. H. Smoothey, 70 Prospect Street, Hull
Please let me know if anyone could tell me if they would know how expensive it can get to fix an antique piano to make it sound good or is it even possible?
Thank You

In 1886, Sandon & Steedman were at 35 Drummond Street NW & Chalton Street, Somers Town NW. Smoothy was not listed then, but was by 1899. Oddly enough, S&S weren't then! _________________ I do not buy, sell or value pianos, but I sometimes rescue pre-1890 pianos in the UK.
