I am acquiring a Cramer piano, black laquer, mahogany upright, serial number 31765 (both on the works and the box) and stamped on the front (above JB Cramer Co) DUSSEK (perhaps a model or make informed by a visit of the composer to London in the mid 18th century).

I have searched the internet and information is scarce on Cramer pianos prior to 1964, possibly due to the firm having changed hands so many times.

I know a bit about pianos and play classical music. I can send an image if it would help to date and trace this piano. It is a solid instrument, cast iron and spruce sound board, very good tone and in good condition. My guess s c1910.

Can you help? Any guess on it's value?

Thank you from a new member (today)

Ask your tuner what it's worth. I seem to remember that Dussek's overture was 1812. There was a firm called Dussek & Dussek around the 1860s, but I have found no details yet other than a piano. I'll look up the Cramer number, but they are not reliable. Can you email me some photos?
