I have the aforementioned piano - fairly recently refurbished, though still with a rather heavy action, but battered cosmetically. I appreciate that these Victorian pianos are worth very little, but it would at least be interesting to know roughly what age it is when I get rid of it!

The dates of some Hopkinson numbers which are published in various "Piano Atlases" are wrong, suggesting 1885 in this instance. I cannot tell you any more just from the number, could you email me some photos?
Have a look at the Numbers page at www.PianoGen.org _________________ I do not buy, sell or value pianos, but I sometimes rescue pre-1890 pianos in the UK.

Ordinary jpg straight from the camera, or bmp, tif etc., but please don't put them in a document! You can press the email button below my reply, or go through my website, which is also there. _________________ I do not buy, sell or value pianos, but I sometimes rescue pre-1890 pianos in the UK.
