Hi we have just purchased an upright piano,it has Spencer London,Beethoven model,Iron frame + check action + trichord written under the keys cover. These are all in old English writing.
Under the top cover, left hand side it has the number 15656.This number is also repeated on the inner right hand lower frame near the iron frame work.
It also has two names stamped into it.G.Brown on inner woodwork and A.Ottewill (or its Ottewin, hard to read the stamp). As it was supplied originally by H.E Hancock Pianos and players,Sydney ,Australia, these may be associated with someone from the company.there is a stamp inside the keys cover from their business.
We are hoping you can please give us some idea of its age.

No precise dates are available for the early numbers, but my estimate is 1890. I can't help with the Australian firm.
