We have just purchased a Steinmayer Piano 20621 probably 1920's, but it has been modernised in the 1950's. Can anyone tell me anything about it, especially what it looked like originally.

Like most make they will have made many variations on a theme just look at any piano for the 1920 and that will give you some idea look at the history page there are some photos of 1920 pianos on there

Usually if the piano had mouldings on the top door (above the fall or keyboard lid) then a modernisation process usually removed these together with any other decoration to give the piano a more plainer look.
