I am not a pianist,but a keyboard played...
in other words,i play electronic keyboards and stuff
like that...
that is beside the point, but i though i'd introduce my self since this is my first post..
I like piano playing a lot,and i hope i have a real piano one day

ok enough about me...

since there are probably a lot of real pianists here,
and since i belive some of you play all kinds of music on the piano beside classical piano peaces..
i'd like someone who knows all kinds of piano styles (like blues, jazz, country, rock'n roll, modern rock piano..and all the other ones) to help me indentifie what kind of piano style is used in a certain song..

So if someone would be kind enough to help me,
i'll send him a short keyboard solo from that song
(over mail) and then hear what is his opinion...

I would be very thankfull...

By all means send me a sound file, but labelling styles is a very difficult area, there are far more styles than labels, and one man's R&B is another man's swing.

This is indeed a very complex subject and even some musicians as Bill says have dirrering opinions as to the style(s) of music. It is made complicated by the fact that within a particular style, Jazz, R&B etc. there are different types within the main catagories.
