Hi,
I'm about to start out on playing piano and was hoping if I could have some advice for books or any tips you can give really!
I currently play trombone at around grade 6-7 and guitar at grade 5 so I already have some music knowledge. I'm planning on being self- taught on piano for about a year while I finish my a levels, and after that I will probably go to a professional tutor to help me learn.
Are there any sites/ dvd's/ books that you think will help me before I start being taught by a tutor? I really don't know where to start here and so any comments at all would be most appreciated.
thanks!

Have a look at The Complete Piano Player by Kenneth Baker; it uses songs you know (probably - Abba, Elvis, Beatles...probably ancient music to you on a par with Gregorian chant Rolling Eyes !); doesn't talk down to you;hasn't got fairies and pixies dancing all over it.
Good luck!
