Hi
I am new to this forum, so hello first of all.
I have been a musician and piano teacher for over 11 years now (based on London, UK). Having been constantly frustrated by the lack of piano music that my students could actually play (they'd bring a book to a lesson, but we could only find two pieces, that were
a) pianistic
b) fit their level of ability
c) not a piano accompaniment to a vocal, which one seems to find on most chart song books.
So I decided to do something about it.
I have co-founded a website (www.greatscores.com) where we arrange the same piece to different levels of ability. I know I am not supposed to use this post to advertise a business, but I am trying to reach piano teachers out there, so hopefullt my post will be accepted. Users can preview and listen to a large part of the score before committing to purchasing one. Print-out occurs directly from one's printer, so the music is instant.
We also have a series of guides, which are continuing to grow, that seek to explain music theory and jazz theory/improvisation in a tangible way.
Furthermore we have artists? biographies, play-alongs for blues improvisation and other tidbits of information.
We are as yet in our infancy, but I would appreciate feedback for my site.
If you are a piano teacher we have a special feature whereby your student can download their pieces for a 10% discount for the first month while you as a teacher receive and ongoing 10%comission. If you are interested in this, please e-mail me.
In the meantime, if you want to try out some scores (we also have a few free scores), use the code GSOFF1 when you register to get your own 10% discount for a month.
Ok, looking forward to your comments.
