Hello, we've an old Piano of G. Schwechten and we want to know how old this piano is. We found some text inside : G. Schwechten "Hof - Pianoforte Fabrikant" - "J.K.H. der Frau Prinzessin Carl von Preussen" - "Berlin, Koch-Strasse 61" and a number 7805. Perhaps you could find out in which year this great piano was produced. We could provide some photos. Thanks in advance. Greetings from Hamburg / Germany.

Are you sure it is a G as C. Schwechten was est in 1853 Berlin the number you have given us would date it at c1870

They made pianos up to 1960

Barrie,

Tut tut Barrie, you've been reading Pierce again! It is G. Schwechten, probably about 1866.

Barrie,

firstly thanks for your prompt reply.
We are absoplutly sure, that the name is G. Schwechten. We would like to send you a photo, but we don't know how this works on this page. We also found a stamp inside with the face of Napoleon III. But this piano is made by G. Schwechten!
