Hi, I am new to all this, so please can any-one help? I have just had given to me a John Birnstead upright piano, the serial number is 72975, where could I found out the history of this fab piano, and the exact date, I have only found out that it it was made between 1910 and 1930.
Hear from any-one soon. Thanks.

First, could you go back and check the spelling of the name please? Nobody anyone can trace the history of every individual piano, and very few of the original archives survive. For most names, no dates of serial numbers are published.

The number suggests about 1914, but no original archives are available to trace the history of the individual piano. I can quote for printing general history of the firm through www.PianoGen.org
