I need advice on how to re-secure a brass book holder back onto my piano's wooden book stand. Is the thread of the brass book stand screwed directly into the wood as this has become loose with age or should the brass thread be screwed into a type of collar which is secured within the wooden book stand. Any information and advice on how to make this repair would be greatly appreciated.

1. fill in the holes and re-drill
2. use old matches to plug the hole and refit
3. A few drops of CA glue (supper glue to you ) in the hole next day screw the book holders back in
