I'd like to joyfully inform all of my friends on the UK Piano Page that I successfully played a song with my friend sat next to me, the same friend I murdered 'Scarborough Fair' in front of months ago!
If anyone reading this is anywhere near Worcester, I will buy them a drink in celebration of this unachievable (I thought) achievement!
Mrs. Brum and I are already into the eighth crate of shampoo! |

| WELL DONE THAT MAN!! Have another shampoo. Stay off the Vosene, though. Unless it's the classic 1966 vintage... |

You under sell yourself. The secret is to pretend you're practicing and that takes the pressure off. I find it extremely nerve racking playing to hubby, he is used to listening to the great pianists and has a very discerning ear, but if I'm just practicing and then go on to play the piece all the way through I find it much less intimidating. |

Yeah, I suppose youre right, Celestite. It may also be about, and I was thinking about this just now. Are you, the pianist, afraid of the piano that you play? Are you in control of the instrument or is the instrument in control of you?
Once all of those fears exit your mind, suddenly the "I'm Mr/Ms. Confident" moment comes, inhibitions of the outside world disappear, and you want to play the rest of that piece!
As for me, I won't count me chickens. |
