| I've just bought a piano marked W.R. Yates &Sons London. Full trichord check action. Can anyone tell me about it, the history or approximate age. |

Not just from a name we can't! They became Yates & Sons in 1892. Nobody has the history of all their individual pianos, any clues will be inside. _________________ I do not buy, sell or value pianos, but I sometimes rescue pre-1890 pianos in the UK.

I know very little. W.R. Yates was established in 1852, and became Yates & Sons in 1892, but disappeared around 1910. As with the majority of piano names, no dates of serial numbers are published, bot #10000 is thought to be around 1895. _________________ I do not buy, sell or value pianos, but I sometimes rescue pre-1890 pianos in the UK.
