Hi I am katherine !!
I am thinking of buying a Boyd of London Piano. Its not expensive and has been tuned recently

Is this piano a good buy ?

Any sugestion on how you can know the age from the ID inside the piano - and generally any hints .

Kind Regards // Katherine

How much are they asking for the piano? The piano's serial number can oftern be located by opening the top and is situated either on the sound board or frame of the piano, or the top of one of the side panels.

You say the piano was recently tuned. It is likely that he/she will have given the customer an idea of what the piano might be worth to sell, if in doubt you could take a piano teacher with you to see the piano, make sure its been tuned to concert pitch.

In principle, Boyd of London pianos were ok, but a number of factors including its maintenance history and where the piano is kept (not too near to radiators etc.)all have a part to play in the piano's overall condition.

Regards

Chris.
