I am considering buying a William Knabe upright piano. The date is somewhere in the 1890's, but I don't remember the exact date. It's mahogony and is in immaculate condition inside and out and sounds great for an upright. The seller is a piano restorer/technician, and he seems to think it's one of his best finds and wants $4,000.00 for it. Is a piano like this worth that? I have no idea, and since the seller is also a restorer, he should know, but he's also the one getting the money, so I'm dubious. What do you think?

Knabe are nice pianos and do restore well – what as the restorer/technician done to the piano for that price in the UK you would expect a lot of work new string hammers ect is he/she giving a guarantee if you are unsure get an independent tuner to look at the piano
