Hi, recently I purchased a upright piano and I'm interested in its origin.
I found a number on the inside top right 11822, and a plark which states F.Baucer Hamburg and on either side there are badges.
The badge on the left has - Franz Josphi Kaiser Van Oesterreich Koenig Von Boehmen Etcapost Keoning Von Ungarn surounding a bust of a gentleman, the one of the right is Weltausstelling Wien 1873 Anerkennungs Diplom.
Hope someone can help me out. Cheers

The reference to the 1873 Vienna exhibition shown on several of their pianos tells us that the piano was made after that date, see the Medals page at www.pianogen.org
Otherwise, we have no trace of the firm, who seem to have disappeared by the 1900s. Any further clues would be hidden inside.
