Hello All
I am trying to find someone kind enough who has a piano they no longer want and who may be willing to donate it to a residential care home in Nottingham.
I am a pianist/ teacher and my grandmother is new a resident in the home and I offered to go in and play old time songs for the residents, and do some music with them by taking in my percussion instruments. Music can be better than medicine for the elderly.
However, the home do not have one and have told me fund raising is limited, so I am on my quest to find something for them, as I cannot afford to buy one for them, though I will get it tuned.
If you can help, please email me at jennymorton72@googlemail.com
Much appreciated. |

To be honest a digital piano would be better older pianos don't last long in residential care homes as they tend to be to hot unless you fit a piano life saver and that will cost you. You can buy a new full weighted digital for £399.00 from some of the discounters Rocking Rooster is one of many or try your local retailer

Hi
I dont know if im replying to a post properly or not!- but wanted to say thanks for the advice- i would love to get them a digital piano, any piano really!- but the home are not able to finance- its not a private home.
But yes- the heat hadnt crossed my mind- they do tend to have a tropical feel to them!
Ill keep hunting- or maybe do some fund raising.

Try secondhand stock!
For what you need, you could pick up something respectable within your price range. So long as it makes a sound, it'll do? |
