A J & J Hopkinson piano had completely come to attention when it was plonked in front of my car, whilst visiting the tip.....I leapt out of the seat, and immediately jumped into action on the keyboard.....and I really liked this terribly sweet piano, that was about to be crunched and crushed by the brute demolition machine......I couldn't bear it.....
After much gefuffing about, I had it moved to, well, my very kind gardening buddy's living room.....she thinks it's lovely too!....
Am calling in a piano tuner to give the good once over, and if she's in pretty good condition (I didn't see any cracks in the sound board), all the ivories are perfect......still holding fairly good tuning in some places.....but one or two crunchy notes prevail.......we shall see what the chap has to say...
Serial no. 72029....does that mean it's around 1920's?.....anybody know?

The number suggests 1919.

Hi Bill......so kind of you to reply.......1919 huh!.......that was the year my dear old Dad was born......he's not here anymore now......what a coincidence.
Well, more light will be shed tomorrow, as the piano tuner is coming to give it the once over....
Do you think these piano's are good in your experience......it seems to have a really good tone, in it's neglected state
