hi!
First hello, I'm new!
I just found the website with a basic research on google.
I'm actually in an emergency to sell my Keyboard.
I'm Thomas, French and in England for 3 months.
But I must already to leave next month (27th June) for Japan.
I don't have any possibility to do a moving house this time because this is too expensive. Then I must to sell my precious piano (amd it really breaks heart >_<).
This is a Clavinova CLP-840 and I already tried to sell it on a lot of websites (ebay, ...).
Because this community appears to know a lot in instrument subject, I'd like to know if 450£ for this keyboard is too expensive.
My second question could be : do you know a good way to sell a piano? some shops? websites? other?
Thank you by advance for you help.
Thomas.
(I also sell some Japanese music books for Piano : http://sama.van.free.fr/)
I add a screen of my keyboard :

Comment allez-vous? Ca fait un bail que je n'ai pas parlé le français! Alors, maintenant, je vais saisir l'occasion! Quand j'étais a l'université, j'étudais le français jusqu'a la fin de la premiere année de ma licence. Comment se fait-il que vous voyagerez au Japon? Est-ce que vous etes un étudiant?
En ce qui concerne votre question du CLP 840, pour ceux qui ne parlent pas le francais et qui veulent lire ce message, mieux vaut continuer en anglais!
The CLP840, as far as I can see, was in production and sale around 1998. Basically you have a digital piano that is ten years old. Some of the new mid-range models, of which the CLP840 is one, are selling for around £800/900 and they are only 2 years old!
I think it would be a good idea to try selling for around 300-350GBP and try Ebay again. A cheaper and possibly more successful way to sell your keyboard would be to advertise in your local paper. At least with one-to-one meetings with potential buyers, you can barter your price and agree on a deal. As people like to try instruments before they buy, this is often the more acceptable option for people, particularly with so much scepticism and fears about Ebay and online purchasing.
J'espere que cela vous aidera a vendre votre instrument! Bonne chance!

That's okay. I remember our teachers always going on about using vous unless you have been invited to "tutoyer"!
Well it seems that you have online advertising covered and I think if anyone is going to buy it online, your range of adverts will certainly give them a good chance of doing so.
Definitely consider the local paper. It has always worked better for me and it is surprising how many people actually read the classifieds! It's also cheaper too! |
