To date no piano has ever been made by any piano manufacturer that does not require a schedule of regular tunings by a professional tuner. It is also a fact that a piano will go out of tune whether it is played or not. Local changes in humidity and changes in the seasons affect all pianos, new and old, no matter if they are played or just left. All manufacturers recommend that a piano be tuned twice a year.

All new members of the ABPT resident in the UK are vetted by the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and approved to work in situations with vulnerable adults or children. There are three categories of membership for the UK:
