This was followed by a brief period of four months playing in a sponsored traditional folk group that concentrated on entertaining elderly people in retirement homes. In 1999, feeling that she now wanted to make her career out of music, Chantal applied for a teaching diploma at the Dublin Conservatory of music and was accepted, spending three of her happiest years studying the subject she loved most and graduating with a 2:1.
