PIANO/KEYBOARD LESSONS FOR ADULTS
Suitable for working and retired adults and university-level students, as well as teachers/players of other musical instruments willing to develop their piano/keyboard skills.
Pupils of all levels are all equally welcome, although beginners are preferred, so that a correct technique can be developed from scratch.
Requirements: An open heart, love and respect for all kinds of music, a genuine willingness to learn, very short finger-nails and of course, some spare time for regular daily practice (although I understand completely that due to work/family/life commitments there are times when this is not possible).
Lessons include (as required): repertoire development, technique (Cortot/Tagliaferro), tone production, style, history of music & arts, improvisation, arrangement, analysis, and active listening.
Computer-assisted learning: theory, aural & rhythmic training.
Assessment: Pupils are assessed in a continuous manner in every single lesson. Those who demonstrate a sincere commitment, attention to detail, availability and reliability will be invited to take part in formal grade exams (Trinity-Guildhall board), or public performance classes. However this is entirely optional and not a requirement for their musical development.
