Lorna Milton
CTABRSM Grade 8
Lorna is a piano, theory and clarinet teacher working from home and in local schools, including Didcot Girls, Blewbury C of E and Chilton CP. She has been teaching for nearly 30 years and has much experience in musical coaching.
She teaches all levels and age groups from 7 years to 70 and particularly appreciates the determination of adult learners. She is also very sensitive to the needs of young children, both educationally and emotionally. She has taught several dyslexic children to successfully read music and many have achieved excellent performing standards.
Numerous students take the ABRSM exams with good results and are also encouraged to play in front of informal audiences to develop their confidence.
Lorna's philosophy is that encouragement and motivation are the very best tools to success and has devised a termly award scheme to give each student a further goal to aim for while maintaining a good practice routine.
