Alison Gill Dip ABRSM, LRSM, BMus (HONS), PG Dip (RAM)

I completed my Postgraduate Diploma in performance (Piano Accompaniment) at the Royal Academy of Music, London, 2007, under the guidance of Andrew West and Daniel-Ben Pienaar. Whilst at the RAM, I made my Wigmore Hall debut that was filmed for Channel 4. In 2007 I was invited to take part in a performance of Satie's 19-hour work Vexations that took place at the Tate Modern, London, and also appeared at the Spitz Jazz Club, London with the Ossian Ensemble.

I formerly studied at Huddersfield University for my Bachelor of Music (Hons) Degree under the guidance of professional accompanist Ian Buckle, being awarded the Rodwell prize for pianist of the department. I have performed in many concerts, both as soloist and accompanist to fellow musicians on a range of instruments. I have taken part in a number of ensembles and in my final year at University, was selected as soloist to perform Gershwins Piano Concerto in F with the University Symphony Orchestra. I have a strong interest in contemporary music and worked closely with several composers whilst playing in the Huddersfield New Music Ensemble, for performances in the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival. I have gained professional experience as piano accompanist in recitals, competitions, examinations and auditions. In 2005-06 I secured the position as official accompanist to the University of Bradford Choir.

I gained my Dip ABRSM in 2003 and LRSM with Distinction in 2005. I have a wealth of experience in both performance and teaching and have benefited from attending Masterclasses with virtuoso soloists Lora Dimitrova, John Gough and Sarah Beth Briggs.

In 2003, I took the top accolade at the Hartlepool Music and Arts Festival, winning Best Musician over all categories. I have since then returned each year to the Festival but as official accompanist and invited in 2007 to be an adjudicator in the final.

In addition to my performance work, I currently teach piano at the Northern School of Music, Hartlepool, English Martyrs School & Sixth Form College, Hartlepool, and Nunthorpe School, Middlesbrough, and also teach a number of private pupils.

If you require a piano accompanist or piano teacher please contact me.
