Dip (Piano) National Conservatoire of Athens
Kat is a qualified classically trained pianist; she graduated with distinction from the National Conservatories in Athens, Greece and then continued at the Royal Academy in London with Christopher Elton, Head of Keyboard. She has performed extensively solo, with ensembles and now composes and performs her own material. She currently teaches privately from her studio on a lovely upright Yamaha U3 (will also travel) and at North Londons Hapning Place (has also taught at Mossbourne Community Academy). Her pupils have been consistently successful the ABRSM piano exams and she is also available as accompanist for ABRSM/Trinity Guildhall exams - all levels. She teaches classical piano with emphasis on strong repertoire and aural/sight-reading, but also covers jazz and contemporary and can provide advice with song writing/arrangements/theory etc and general musicianship.
Kat has experience teaching children with learning difficulties and adults of all abilities and ages , including professional musicians and adapts her approach and style to suit her pupils' individual needs.
When she's not teaching Kat performs at events and private functions, as a solo pianist and also with her jazz duo.
