Experienced piano tutor with PhD from Sheffield. Teaches wide rage of students from beginner to advanced and all ages. Get to grips with each individuals abilities and mindset in order to make thinks interesting and relevant to students early on. Have experience teaching in groups as well as teaching individuals. Early steps on the piano may be undertaken with quite a basic keyboard, intermediate steps with a good keyboard. Keyboard generally (taken to include technique on organ, harpsichord &c) can also be taken as can music theory, analysis, history and any other kind of academic support.
Basic rate is £20ph / £15 3/4 hour but this can be substantially discounted for under 18, employed, student 60+ &c.
Experienced composer of music provides something interesting to offer and I compose music for teaching purposes when necessary.
