Mark has taught 4 of my children to play piano or guitar. they have all reached a high standard and the youngest children love their lessons with Mark. I have known Mark for over 14 years. Mark is a gifted musician and enthusiastic about passing on to others his knowledge. He is brilliant at what he does and I encourage anyone who is thinking about music lessons to consider him.

After having learnt Piano from different teachers over several years, my lessons with Mark have been the first where I have felt a dramatic improvement in my ability from the beginning. Mark uses an effective teaching method, coupled with lots of patience and an approachable easygoing attitude. With a healthy balance between practical and theory based teaching my knowledge of the Piano has grown and passion for this instrument enthused with the challenging music I have been working through. Mark has a real depth of knowledge for music in general which contributes to making lessons so enjoyable and satisfying. I am more confident and excited about improving my piano skills due to Marks teaching and therefore have no hesitation in recommending him to any potential students.

Mark has influenced me in many ways on the keyboard in just 1 year. I spent 2 years with another keyboard school and didn't come on as much as I have with Mark. When he is teaching you to play you can tell he really enjoys what he is doing and this rubs off on his students. He is a very nice guy he doesn't only teach you but he make it fun and makes you want to learn. Before I came to him I was thinking about quitting the keyboard but after Mark started teaching me it made it so much more enjoyable I am so glad I started my lessons with Mark and I strongly recommend him to anybody.

What strikes you about Mark in his lessons is his obvious passion for music and his love of the pianio; he is someone who knows how to convey knowledge, making it understandable in a fun and enjoyable way, coupled with Mark's patience, it makes each lesson a pleasure. Strongly recommended.

I was fortunate enough to be tutored by Mark for 5 and a half years on the keyboard and piano until career commitments meant we had to part company, and I can't speak highly enough of him.
Others have rightly spoken of his depth of knowledge and his ability to enthuse and encourage his pupils, but for me his friendly nature and sense of humour were just as important for a nervous and inexperienced novice as I was.
I will forever be grateful for Mark's help and encouragement and would recommend him without reservation.

I have only recently become a student of Mark's and had very little experience with the keyboard/piano (Chopsticks at best!). In the last couple of weeks I have become familiar with musical terms, reading music and also playing thanks to Mark's teaching. Mark has made the whole experience of learning to play an instrument a very pleasant one as his friendly disposition and enthusiasm for music will inspire many. I have already recommended Mark to a family member and would gladly recommend him to many others as he is not only a highly skilled and qualified musician, but also an excellent tutor who caters for every one of his student's needs on an individual level.

I am a retired gentleman who decided to take up an instrument, something that I had always wanted to do. I contacted Mark and arranged lessons. After 7 months of lessons I now feel comfortable playing several pieces on my keyboard. I thought I would never play, and would not have if I had not had Mark's professional courteous and patient guidence. Mark is a very good teacher who can teach all ages and abilities. He teaches for exams or like me just for pleasure.

I have been a pupil of Mark's for many years and with Mark’s help and encouragement I have taken and passed with distinction both music theory and piano exams.

Mark has an excellent knowledge of many different musical styles: classical, jazz, blues, pop etc and their associated musical theory.

I particularly enjoy composing and with Mark's help I have composed “Pop” songs and music for films.

Mark’s knowledge of studio equipment, musical instruments and their use has enabled me to set-up my own home recording studio.

If you want to learn to play an instrument, get in tune for the X factor or for you budding guitarists: “what’s a power chord” and how do I improvise some guitar licks to play over it, then you need some lessons from Mark.

I have written this review of Mark Pagan who is teaching me to play the keyboard, progressing onto the piano.Mr. Pagan teaches a broad range of people of various abilities. Personally speaking, I have tried to play all sorts of instruments throughout my life and failed, eventually giving up each instrument in frustration after about six months. Since I have been taking lessons with Mr. Pagan I have progressed at such a rate that after only a few months I am now able to play a number of tunes on the keyboard and have now also started reading music. If I progress at the same rate using the teaching technique of Mr. Pagan, I am sure that I will achieve a very pleasing standard at this particular art. Before I started taking lessons with Mr. Pagan I felt like I would never be able to play a musical instrument in my life yet now my opinion has changed. After listening to Mr. Pagan’s instruction and practicing his examples, my knowledge, appreciation and pleasure of music increases with each visit. Not only do I now aspire to play the piano I also feel like I am studying music as a whole too – a very worthwhile and satisfying past-time.Mr. Pagan’s knowledge of music styles, genres and theory is in-depth and he puts this across with enthusiasm and vigor which certainly spurs me on in my quest to master some of the more mundane tasks one has to master in their desire to adequately play the keyboard/piano. I just wish I had decided to take the plunge earlier. However if I had done I may not have met Mr. Pagan and would be using another tutor. Learning to play the keyboard with Mr. Pagan was well worth the wait. I recommend him to anybody who is intending to learn or wants to improve the art of the piano. If he can teach me to play I am sure he can teach anybody. Well done and keep it up.
