Dogs and Birds
Dogs and Birds is a highly successful way to teach the piano to very young children. It uses animals to symbolize musical notes for example Bird for B, Cat for C and Dog for D. The animals are printed inside the notes to help the children to read the music. The children can sing the monosyllabic names as they play the notes, thus developing musicality and their inner-ear. The method is suitable for teaching the keyboard/piano to children from 4 to 7 years old. It can be used either with individual students or in groups.
