Strategies for well-being
Performance anxiety and phobias reduce many musicians (no matter what their level of experience and expertise) to a state of fear and trembling. Exams, concerts, even teaching demonstrations, can become a nightmare instead of a joy. Fortunately, there are simple techniques that can quickly resolve even complex fears, creating relaxation and confidence, allowing the musician to be at their best in all situations. Motivation for practising, active learning skills and stage presence can also be increased. Jen Tiller MBIH, with over 15 years' experience as a piano teacher, and an inventor's award for her series of theory books, activity packs and board games, is also a highly qualified therapist and trainer (NLP trainer, EFT Practitioner, Reiki healer, Buteyko breathing therapist and Workplace Trainer in assertiveness, stress management and communication).
