The Visually-Impaired Musicians' Association was inaugurated during the late 1980s for the purpose of bringing together visually-impaired people with interests across the whole spectrum of music. In this way we are able to support members needing help or advice on some aspect of their musical interest. Our members range from eminent performers and teachers to people who love to go to concerts or listen to music in their homes. The current membership fee is £10 per year, payable in January, which covers three issues of our magazine "Posthorn" (April, July and November). Couples sharing one copy of each magazine and other postings pay £15 per year. VIMA is a national organisation, so we do not have an actual base, but we aim to meet together three times a year: in London for our Annual General Meeting, in April; in Liverpool for a fun music-making day in July; and in Weston-super-Mare for a weekend of activities towards the end of November. For further information about VIMA and our activities, please contact the Chairman/Secretary, Chairman: John Savage, 11d Claremont Avenue, Woking, Surrey, GU22 7SF; tel.: 01483-769988; e-mail: johnnyboy184@ntlworld.com Secretary, and Magazine Editor: Peter Wilkins, 32 Rectory Green, Churchgate, Stockport, Cheshire, SK1 4BS; tel.: 0161-477-0765; e-mail: goodsound@btinternet.com |
