Providing the condition of the piano is acceptable, I will raise the pitch to A440 hz (Concert or Standard Pitch). This will mean that you will be playing each key at the right frequency and most importantly hearing the correct sound as intended by the composer. In addition you can pitch any other instrument to your piano and know that they will be in tune. As a regular customer I will ensure that I visit you every 6 to 12 months, this will ensure that your instrument never wanders too far out of tune. .

At any time I am prepared to give free quotations for general overhauling, which can mean cleaning out under the keys and around the pedal area. Although these parts of your piano are not seen, over the years they collect layers of dust etc. and can attract unwanted insect life. Screws can become loose, resulting in action sections rattling and not striking the strings clearly. Regulating keys which may be sticking, also dampers which may not be working correctly and allowing the notes to ring on after releasing the key.

A complete refurbishing, can consist of re-string, new hammer felts, new damper felts, new springs and tapes. Replacing all felts in action also under keys. Recovering keys and cleaning then throughoughly, also re-place key bushing. Pedal system is overhauled and if necessary the pedals or springs can be re-placed.
